Hi there if you had £150-250 to spend, and wanted a DVD player that would also play CDs well, what would you buy ? Not worried about HDMI etc. but a nice clean remote would be very nice. [I ask because I just got a NAD T517 and it is vert plasticky, doesn't display track numbers on CDs and has a remote that looks like it is from a £30 player and is an offence against good design] Thanks R

Hi

I'd certainly recommend Denon DVD players as being good for CD. My 1940 also does a good job with multi-channel SACD and DVD-A, though curiously, it seems to have been 'replaced' by an older model, the DVD-1740. If you're not worried about multi-channel music, though, how about the DVD1800DB for around £250? Anyone any experience of playing CDs on this Denon Bluray player?

Good luck!
