I imagine this is a really simple thing but I can't get the TV to pick up the HDMI signal from the DVD player.

It's a new cable and I've just tried it on the xbox. It picks up the signal straight away without any fuss.

The DVD player is a Cambridge DVD86.

I is only picking up the scart signal. If i have both the scart and hdmi connected it will only picks up the scart signal.

When i choose the HDMI source on the TV is simply says

'Searching'

'DVI None'

There is a HDMI button on the DVD remote which switches between 'interlace' and off though doesn't seem to have any effect.

Suggestions??

Hi,if you haven't had HDMI connected before then you may need to access the menus on the DVD player and set it to HDMI output. Some DVD's will only output through one connection at a time.Good luck.

The interlace button on your remote probably toggles between the normal 1080p(progressive) and 1080i(interlaced).If there is no output from HDMI then there will be no change when you press it.
