^ Which is why Churchill wanted to push on to Moscow but thankfully was overruled by Truman. Thankfully the US won the race to the bomb, which meant Stalin didn't keep on until Brest....

Nolan has to commended for using REAL planes, old fashioned mock ups and model planes for the crashes and real actors dangling perilously from real mock ups of sinking ships. I detected very little, if any CGI. Would have been easy to do a "Lord of the Rings" to create huge numbers of troops on the beaches, and / or a "Sully" to create the planes but he chose not to.

One thing I AM wondering is what planes he used for the NAZI Stukas Heinkels and Junkers 88 bombers. I think there's a few non-flying Stukas still around in museums, but not any Heinkels or 88s. If anyone knows please enlighten.

the JU-87 Stuka roughly 6,000 produced, there are only 2 remaining in tact One in a museum in Chicago, and another in the UK that I no about and both are static displays as there are no working ones left .

And the Heinkel there are none left as the last one crashed in 2003 at a air show which killed everyone onboard but saying all that there are meant to be 3 static ones left in museums but weather this is true I am not sure

Watched Dunkirk - excellent PQ & SQ. Won't be upgrading to a 4K player as upscaled 1080 excellent.

Enjoyed the film despite some dubious accuracy and continuity. The Spit staying aloft for so long following his engine failure at the end was pure fantasy - shooting down a Stuka in the process! Just watch Sully. A very different role for Cillian Murphy -his Tommy in Peaky Blinders is more befitting, IMHO.

Hi Benedict,

Sorry for belated reply re: your post mentioning Compaq billionaires. Have you watched Halt and Catch Fire on Amazon Prime? Four series, excellent absorbing, witty script and acting in a potentially dry story. Texas start up's developing first portable PC, through embyonic gaming, chat rooms to social media to the www and search engines.4 series. Wife and I binge watched - despite the lack of car chases and flesh-eating zombies! Happy New Year.

Yup. Prolly rubbed shoulders with a couple of them in a local boozer of ill repute -
sadly now bulldozed - without realising. The whole neighborhood used to be called "Compaq" for a reason.

Skipped it at the cinema and watched it in 4k with my dad.

The sound was insane. (Typical Nolan) picture quality was ok but HDR didn't seem impressive just the resolution. I thought Harry styles was decent in his role considering lack of work in the industry. I give it a 6.5/10 and I have sold the 4k disc since. Only one watch for me
