Dumb SKY HD question Sorry

If you connect your sky hd box to an reciever that has upscaling to 1080 p. Does this mean that non hd channels become hd and hd channels are upped to 1080p. Sorry if seems stupid just been annoying me as I can not tell much of a difference and figured it should up scale every image dvd and tv a like.

No, the non-HD channels remain SD, but are upscaled, which can make them look better on an HD ready or Full HD set. And yes, such a receiver can upconvert the 1080i signal to 1080p, but frankly it's probably best to let the Sky signal pass through unprocessed if you think it looks good enough already on your TV.
