Does anybody recognize this connector?

So this is the plug that an old turntable I recently dug up uses, what is the name for this connector and are there adapters for it? I want to connect the turntable to a more modern set of speakers.

Turntables don't have speaker plugs, so I'm guessing you have an old music centre thing.

These http://tinyurl.com/zes74rb should sort you out, unless you fancy soldering the wretched little plugs.

As TrevC says, it is a Din speaker plug, which implies a built in amplifier. so a music centre of sorts.

Put it back in the skip you found it in and buy a proper turntable.

You're right, it's a Panasonic SG-240 incase you're wondering. I don't think it would be a good idea to use these ports though, because I want to connect it to a receiver.

It's a turntable my parents bought way back in the 70's, I really want this thing running again for personal reasons. One day I will get myself a proper turntable.

It isn't a turntable, that's the problem. It is a record playing unit, with a built in amplifier, tuner and cassette deck. Those two pin DIN speaker plugs aren't relevant I don't think, unless they lead to the speakers.

I googled the user manual, and it says there is a tape out socket, which you could plug into an aux input of another amplifier or receiver. But it will sound horrible if it sounds at all. It was pretty awful when new - sorry.

You need one of these http://tinyurl.com/jfmg69m in the din tape socket at the back . Two of the plugs will have an output on them that you can use to connect your receiver.
