does a full hd tv make sd tv look worse than a hd ready one?

it depends on the upscaler used.

if using the TVs upscaler it will depend on the TV bought. And the program quality.

Some SD looks rubbish on my HD ready TV as the program image is rubbish. God knows what it would look like on a Full HD TV

It all depends on the way that the two sets handle SD pictures, if you get a Full HD set that is rubbish with SD and compared it to an HD Ready set that is brilliant with SD, then yes the Full HD set wouldn't look as good with SD. This can also be true the other way around, it depends on the tv and how it handles SD. Both Full HD and HD Ready sets can look brilliant or rubbish with SD, each tv is different so you can not say from just the Full HD or HD Ready spec. alone. Hope this helps.

hi kevb , the reviews of the g10 are positive regarding sd , dont forget with freesat you get itv and bbc hd also , theres some decent stuff on them , including , champions league , fa cup , world cup , wimbledon , golf .. and programmes like dragons den , planet earth , various other nature programmes and quite a few movies on itv hd now too , i havnt seen a g10 and a 37inch panny side by side , but i doubt there would be much in the difference in sd , if any , and the g10 wins in every other area , for £200 more you would be silly not to go for it ...
