Do you prefer top or bottom?

Did I get your attention? My speakers have 2 sets of binding posts. I have them single wired and the manual seems to indicate I should plug into the bottom set. I am using the top set. My thinking is that the mids and highs are the more delicate signal and I'd rather have them receive the signal prior to the metal connector between the posts since that metal post connector is considered by many to be a weak conductor. Thoughts?

Path is so short it doesn't matter, but my speaker manuals have always said go bottom first.

Not something ive ever played about with but for some reason they all indicate to connect to the lower end first. I actually agree that in theory the top end should be connected first. My advice is try as you are for a few months then swop over for another couple of months and let us know what your thoughts are.

You could also try discarding the metal connector and trying the F connection, too.

igglebert:I'd be amazed if you can tell the difference.

If the difference is nill, than the people who suggest removing the connector and replacing with high quality cable are misguided. I suspect that's true, but I'm keeping an open mind...

Haha, I used to do that with my MA RS1 speakers!

The F connection is new to me, too, found it while perusing a well known Salisbury manufacturer's website - no names. Looked a good idea and it's on my to do list.

Andrew Everard:Basically the same as making jumpers from off-cuts of speaker wire, then...

But considerably more challenging to fabricate. ÿ
