Do new receivers have video i/o converter?

Hi guys, i am using two receivers from 2004 and 2005 models, connected with computer using s-video cable. Both models do not convert s-video signal to output video component, and all types of video input-output work seperately. (ie, s-video in - s-video out, component in - component out)

Since we often talk about video upscaling, do they convert video singals as well?

Yes, quite a few models offer upconversion as well as upscaling.
