i want to bi-wire my speakers to amp but i only have a pair of two and a half metre qed micro cables (had more but cant find them). Now i can half the pair ive got and use them and they would reach the amp no problem as the speakers are close but i was told you should use 6 metre speaker cables so need to know if what i have is ok to use for now or do i need to go and buy longer lengths of speaker cable.

Were you told that by someone trying to sell a pair of 6m cables? Complete rubbish I'm afraid. If your confident in cutting your speaker cables in half and re-terminating them you will have no issues with the shorter cable lengths.

I think this is probably a misunderstanding caused by the fact Naim used to say 6m speakers cables were the minimum for its amps. No such requirement with your Marantz amp, or indeed current Naim models.
