Hi my Nad Cd player c515bee has just come up with disc read error ! not very impressed as its only about 2 years old .

Anybody got any ideas ? just read the thread on unreliable Nads

My Aiwa system was retired after ten years never really had any problems in that time .

U wouldnt mind the player only gets used now and again as i tend to use laptop and caimen condition wise its good as new

Thanks mark

Tried loads of disks they were all the same includeing lens cleaning disk , anyway took the top off it and waggled the ribbon cable going into the laser and cleaned the lens with cotton wool and water ,and its bought it back to life!

See how it goes cant see it lasting i reckon the ribbon cable is startung to crack even though its had minimal use

Not very pleased

Thanks again Mark

My Teac micro hifi again which has had minimal use and a few months older hasnt suffered the same

I have the same problem with the same player. Like yours, mine is only two years old.

The Marantz that it replaced lasted 16 years. Not impressed.

I'll try cleaning the lens manually, as you suggest.

I have same problem with Marantz cd6002. I hardly ever used it for the first two years so I think it might be the cheap greese drying up on the cd reader rails. If its out of warrenty then maybe its worth a look inside to check.
