Dilemma Over New Equipment

Hi

After much deliberation I have decided to 'upgrade' my AV equipment.

Current set up

Loewe Aconda with DVB tuner and DR+ (only 3 years old)

Onkyo TSDX575X Reciever

Onkyo DS535 DVD Player

Acoustic Energy 105 front /100 rear

REL Q150E

Proposed New Equipment

Pioneer PDP428XD

Panasonic DMP BD30EG-K Blu Ray

Onkyo TSXR605

Topfield TF5810 PVR

Keeping same speaker set up

I have done a lot of research into this and taken much information from various forums including this one.

Strangely enough the only small concern that I have is that the Pioneer is only 1080i(even though everybody seems to rave about it.

Any advice or re-assurance would be gratefully received

That's a great new set-up - please don't fret about the Pioneer: it handles 1080p signals and 24fps HD content far better than the average Full HD set.

And even against the very best 1080p TVs, what it might lose in a slight amount of detail it more than makes up for in superior contrast, colour and motion handling: unless you're sitting with your nose against the set, you'll appreciate its many benefits far more.
