Digital Optical Audio Cables

Can these cables go round tight bends or will this stop them working correctly, I have no idea how this type of cable is constructed, ie whats inside them.

Depends what you mean by tight, but generally speaking, no it's not a good idea.

Optical cables work by internal reflection, the more you bend the cable the more light will escape the reflections and the signal will weaken. At least that's the case with glass optical fibre, I presume the case is the same with plastic ones.

No. Always make sure the cable curves around a corner and is not bent to fit.
