After a lot of searching i have zeroed in on the DENON PMA 2010 AE with the Anthony Gallo Reference 3.1s.I have not heard them in unison as the dealer says he has to get the amp as he does not have it with him.Do you guys think i should go in for the combo or get something else for the Galos. The Gallos are discounted at1200 GBP.So please let me know. The replys will matter a lot in to my buying.

The dealer has the PMA 1500AE and DCD 1500AE too.for GBP 850,(425each) with the Gallos. What should i do? HELP

wHAT DO YOU THIMK OF THE COMBO, THE DENON WITH GALLO Ref 3.1 .I GENERALLY LISTEN TO rOCK AND mETAL.

STATING a point wont help!

f no members have heard the combo how can they give an answer?

I'm not familiar with the Gallos but I can help with the PMA1500AE and DCD1500AE because I used to own them.

What sort of music do you listen to and what sort of sound do you tend to like?

I listen to bands from Black Sabbath to Avenged Sevenfold to Cradle of Filth to Nazareth to CCR to Kiss to Buckcherry to Kings of Leon to LTE.

Its generally Classic Rock to NuMetal.

And are the Denons good enough to power the Gallos ReF 3.1s?

Thanks for the reply.

£5k+ speakers with a sub £1k Denon amp? I doubt it.

The PMA1500AE/DCD1500AE are very talented for the money and sound great paired with something like Epos or KEF speakers. You get a quite fluid and detailed sound with just the right touch of warmth. Drawbacks? The CD player can be slightly on the hollow-sounding side on occasion and the amplifier has a tendency to SLIGHTLY overblow the bass and treble - like listening with each on +1 instead of flat.

I don't know the Gallos, like I said, but reading about them I think they will highlight any deficiencies the Denon electronics have.

You need to look at better electronics (read MUCH better) for the Gallos, or less exotic speakers for the Denons IMO, but you will only know for sure after a proper audition.

"but you will only know for sure after a proper audition"

That is indeed the truth, but I am thinking of partnering them with the Denon PMA2010AE more the the 1510.Or else maybe ill have to get some Brystons!

Thank you very much for your inputs.
