Hi all,

Not being entirely competent with Home Cinema systems (I have a novice understanding) I ask the following.
I own the above amp, which is connected to my xbox, UHD BLU RAY and Samsung TV.
How many speakers can I install into this unit for a Dolby Atmos experience. Is it just the two, or can I expand it to 4?? Thanks

It depends on the number of channels of amplification your Denon possesses. As a minimum, you need 5 speakers for 5.1 system. The additional channels can be used as overhead for Atmos. So you can have 5.1.2 configuration (with 2 overhead channels), 5.1.4 (with 4 overhead channels), 7.1.2 and 7.1.4.

In your case, your Denon possesses 7 channels of amplification. So if you want Atmos, your only possibility is 5.1.2. Other alternatives are either 7.1 configuration (without Atmos) or addition of another amplifier which will enable 5.1.4 configuration. I would not recommend the last option as it's better to upgrade your existing Denon to provide more channels of amplification of that is the route you wish to take.
