Denon DRA-325R squeaky/static sound output

I recently bought a second hand Denon DRA-325R and the audio it produces is high pitched, and low clarity, almost as if there is no bass. I have tried multiple outputs, cd, aux in, phono, as well as multiple speakers/wires, and the same issue persists. Any suggestions on what is wrong?

What did you test it with? You say outputs, surely you mean inputs?
I take it all the tone controls are at zero.
Return it as unfit for purpose.

I played music through all the inputs, which it does, but they all have the same crackly, high pitched playback of the music.

Cannot see anything obvious but I am no expert, and I doubt anyone else on this forum could tell you from looking at photos. It needs to go to a qualified electrician for testing I would suggest

When you say ‘music’ exactly what was the source? CD player, turntable, phone, PC?
