I'm using this on MM. But would like to try on MC. Firstly, will it support it or is the voltage of 1.6Mv too high for the aria. Next, if it will work, what switch settings should I use? The load impedance of the DL-110 is 160 ohms. I am not sure what the capacitance is.

My setup : cayin A50T integrated valve amp. Rega RP3 turntable, DL-110 cartridge, Monitor Audio Silver RX1 speakers and Rega Aria phono stage.

Loading should be 47k ohm or more if it helps any. Not sure using this cartridge on anything other than a moving magnet input as that is what it is designed for, but don't let me stop you experimenting.

Not sure whether any of the switch settings would work successfully as never had an Aria.

has your phono stage got a Mc output? I use a dl110..it's a nice cart..better than the horse! Lol..ps it's usually used in mm mode ..but in Mc mode it sounds very nice through my Linn turntable..very quiet player too through Mc mode...it will be fine through either..i used to use it mm mode but went over to Mc (i have a switch and separate outputs for mm and Mc on my ca 640p phono stage) it's plenty loud enough thru Mc for my hifi..

I'll bet it's loud enough sending 1.6mV through a moving coil stage. :)

Thanks for all the replies. With regards to impedance, there's load impedance and electrical impedance

Generating method: moving coil

Output voltage: 1.6mV

L/R sensitivity: within 1dB

L/R separation: more than 25dB

Electrical impedance: 160 ohms

Load resistance: more than 47kOhms

i am guessing I set the dip switches to match the load rather than Electrical impedance? Max possible switch setting is for 400ohms on the Aria. Can anyone advise?

sorry I can't help with this, with my 78 player I wind it up and if the steel pin (needle) doesn't sound so good? I sharpen it with my diamond sharpener! Think the load is the one to go for? Try it? Keep volume down..see what it sounds like? Al ears has more expertise than me...I'm hoping for a resurgence of 78s as they are now selling vinyl pls in sainsburies! I asked a sales assistant whether they would be stocking 78s? He looked at me as if I were half witted? Lol..
