I had ordered a Denon DBP-2011 Universal Blu-ray just after xmas, and was told it was due to be in stock sometime in Jan, but today I received an email saying that my order had been changed to a Denon DBP-2012 due out in March.

Is this correct that the DBP-2011 has been discontinued? - that would mean I need to change my sig.

Quite possible, as we're slap bang in the middle of the model changeover period for most manufacturers with 2010 models being phased out to make way for the 2011 ones. I'll need to check with Denon.

I read on another forum posts by a group of people who had pre-ordered it (like yourself) who had been told by their dealers that because of the delays that saw delivery slip into 2011 denon decided to rename it in accordance with it's forthcoming 2011 models- ie xx12. Some of the specs om it have changed as well like it being 3d enabled out of the box.

Hi TechMad

Like you I am interested in the Denon DBP-2011. I called into Kent Home Cinema in Tunbridge Wells this week to enquire when and if, they were expecting the 2011 in. They confirmed that the 2011 is being replaced by the 2012 due to the delay and they were expecting the 2012 in three weeks, or so.

Hope this helps.

Here's the official response from Denon UK:

"A delay to the DBP-2011's production meant it never came into the UK, and instead we've gone straight to the DBP-2012, which is 3D-capable straight out of the box (unlike the '2011)."

So anyone who ordered a DBP-2011 will get a '2012.

thanks to all, I am looking forward to delivery in March
