denon and dacs

i have a denon m38 micro system, i know it has an inbuilt dac. i have an ipod and would the denon controll dock r11 bypass the ipods own internal dacs or not?

The usb socket on the front panel will bypass the iPod dac.

good , it seems a bit steep then, offering a dock for 70 quid, thanks
