When I run Audyssey auto set-up with my Denon 4310, I get an error message for 2 speakers phase setting. I've check the conncetions and everything is as should be.

Should I just ignore the error message? Change the connections? Is there any risk of damage?

Interested in comments as I'm new to this game....

If u are sure that u have wired the speakers correctly than Just skip the error message and continue the auto setup , it,s a typical error message i had it also my self when i was seting up my 4310 and also many other people that i know. it,s even there in the manual i think under trouble shooting ,that u could run into thise phase setting message even though if your speakers are wired correctly , and it,s perfectlty normal to ignor it.

goodluck!

Thanks for replying Marco. I posted earlier that I had heard it might be related to mains polarity (live/neutral) and I switched my plug and got way better sound (the way I demo-ed) but still the phase error. Otherwise, I love it - frighteningly good with sound and audio - hope you feel the same way about yours..

I simply love it ! i have had min for about 3 month now and i don,t even have one single issue or complain about it.

Thise AVR is bursting with ability and authority , it got muscles like a big house the sound are just so huge and detailed, everytime when i turn off the light and i crank up the sound on some action packed movie i feel as if my HT room get bigger at least 10 feet in every direction and what amazes me most is that how smoothly and effortlessly it does it

Another fact that i like about the AVR-4310 that it dosn,t have the heat issue that many

many AVR today has got , i have notes that even when play movie in 7.1 mode at about -10DB for few hours , when i come close to it and i touch the top, it,s only barely warm which's a very good sign.

what type of speakers package are you using with yours? and how do you feel about it so far...

I'm using the Audica CX2 system. I bought 4 satellites with stands and an additional 2 with wall brackets. I haven't tried it yet in 7.1 mode - don't know whether to go high or wide (what do you suggest?).

On separate threads people have spoken about run-in time. I guess I have 20 hours on the clock and every time it gets better (or I rationalised my DVDs listening this way).

I'm using an OPPO BD83 modified to feed it and I'm delighted. I have a problem with fixing communication between a SAT box (not Sky) and it, but otherwise no regrets, feeding a Samsung 46" series9 TV.

What you did heard about the run-in time is absolutely true! after it had run about 50-70 hours of use , it will bring more openness and smoothness to the sound .

as for the additional pair of the speakers i would suggest you try both height and width and see what you like best. the professionals at dolby.com and the measurity of user's they all prefered the height channels config. on the other hand people at audyssey they seems to be a littel lean toward the width channels config. and some they just want them both :)

personally iam using mine in a 7.1 -height channels config. even though the first time i have set it up i wasn,t happy with the result and i thought it was just a waste of money buying 2 extra speakers , however the second time i tried it, i was realy impressed with what i have heard...what went wrong the first time? actually nothing, it was just that the audyessey -DSX mode that dosn,t work well for my set up, switching to the PLIIZ -H mode is make's far better result than the DSX did , my advice to you when ever you want to set up those channels , try both the DSX AND PLIIZ -H and see what provide the best result for you, if u decide on the height -config. just make sure that they are about 3 feet or more above your main L-R speakers.
