Denon 2310 vs Yamaha RXV2065

I know that WHF named the denon 2310 the best for 2009 but i was wondering what people thought about the Yamaha RXV2065 compared to it as i now see that they are roughly the same price. WHF does not seem to have reviewed this model yet either?

Any advice welcome......or even other suggestions.

two excellent amps

i have just added the 2310 to my system and it is fantastic (replacing an older Yamaha) The 2065 is a slightly more powerfull amp and it has 2 HDMI outputs which would be handy if you wanted to add a projector in the future.

demo both if you can though - they will sound different

The Yamaha RX-V2065 is more in the league of Denon 2310's elder sibling, the 3310. Denon 2310 is in the same class as the Yamaha RX-V1065.

Your choice of receiver really depends on your choice of speakers, but between the two, the Yamaha RX-V2065 is better than the Denon 2310.

Big boss, i will be matching it with Kef KHT 3005se speakers so which one would you think would be better for both music and movies?

Pete, just wondering why you changed from an old Yamaha to the new Denon as some guys like to keep with the same makers and just upgrade to a better model?

Yamaha is better in my opinion. If you had asked which one is better amongst the Yamaha RX-V2065 & Denon 3310, then it would be relatively more difficult to pick the better one. Definitely demo both of them though, & see which one would you prefer.

I would recommend the RX-V2065. It will work well with the KEF speakers. I have lost count of how many KEF KHT/Yamaha AV amps combinations that i have sold over the years. KEF's UNI-Q technology and Yamaha's Cinema DSP (Digital Soundfield Processing) technology are particularly well suited to each other.

Besides which the RX-V2065 offers an even better performance than the already excellent RX-V1900.

defo gave me food for thought as i expected more pro Denon as all i have read in forums has been about the Denon 2310.

Just one more thing, since i am pretty new to all this. Which one would be easier to use / set up for people like myself?

What did you go for in the end ?

Im stuck on this aswell have a budget of roughly £550 and so far it looks like its going to be between the Denon 2310, Yamaha RXV2065 or something else maybe?

Which out of these two would be better paired for my speakers ?
