I now have the Panasonic TH-42PZ85 with a Panasonic Bluray DMP BD35 with Sky HD+ and wow I'm very very pleased with the setup so far.

On a previous question it was recommended for me to go for the sony str dg820 and the Jamo a102hcs5 speakers. I am happy with the speaker choice but the drop in prices means that I could strech to a Yamaha DSP AX763.

The question is ...would it be worth it with the setup that I have?

Many thanks in advance

Pete

Big Chris what do rec? I have a budget of approx £500 for the amp/speakers and will buy leads on top of the budget.

You won't get any better than the Yamaha and the Jamos with that budget. It will sound great and you can always upgrade your speakers at a later date. I started with that Jamo set and, ok, once you have traditional speakers in a 5.1, you won't go back but I was astonished by how good the Jamos sounded for the money. I mean the sub itself sells for £120 and kicks out 200w in decent style and you are getting five more speakers for around £80 extra!! I don't know how they do it.

Thanks. It seems its time to get SWMBO to release the funds 🙂

Have to agree with Gerrardasnails, Pete. I went with his and WHF's advice and got the Jamos, and I have to say, I'm very impressed with them. I thought they might feel very plasticky and cheap looking, but they're anything but. And for the price, the sound they produce is so much better than I was expecting.

Sorry. When you said stretch your budget, i thought you meant you'd be looking at stuff up to, say £700 or something. I would have thought the Q Acoustics package would be a better bet if you can accomodate them.
