Hi,

Anyone else out there from the North East will be familiar with the headache of actually finding somewhere to buy hifi things! There was a time when we had Richer Sounds, Superfi and Sevenoaks here in Newcastle. Lintone were here for a spell too, but alas, all we have now is a rather small Richer Sounds, who have more interest in selling TVs than anything else!

Does anybody know the closest place I can find KEF speakers? I really want to demo the Q300s against the Monitor Audio Bronze BX2s. I'd like a listen of the B&W 685 too, I'm going to purchase one of the three. :?

Many thanks!

Joseph :)

Thanks for all the help. For getting a look at some KEFs, it seems Edinburgh or Darlington are my only options. I did look into Newcastle Hifi in Kenton but they don't stock a great range, no sign of KEF or B&W.

Seeing as I don't drive, this is going to be trickier than I thought :wall: I can't see myself with a KEF Q300 box on my lap on the train, there's barely enough room for your legs as it is! Not to mention the extortionate fares if it turns out to be a wasted journey!

I might pop across to Newcastle Hifi, it's linked to Peter Tyson so they might be able to order me something in.

Cheers!

Joseph :)
