Hi Al.available from all good news agents...I got mine from tesco.obviously this first one is the sweetener at 9.99 and the following issues are going to be £16.99 for single lp's and £24.99 for doubles but you get some booklets with information etc.don't know if I'll keep buying or not but a tenner for abbey road is not to be sniffed at if you don't already own it.

Deagostini do the Beatles on vinyl, first issue with abbey road for £9.99....just listening to it and it's on the Apple lable on 180grm vinyl, sounds fantastic.

It won't actually be on the Apple label - that's a facsimile of the original label, just like the Miles Davis they released a couple of years ago. But that pressing did sound surprisingly good, so hopefully this one will too. I won't be buying it, though (can't abide The Beatles).

Abbey Road is one of their better albums.

Is it just me or does it appear there is no separation between tracks on this album so much so that the last track on side one finishes far too abruptly, and if it really is 180gm vinyl then mine has gone on a diet. ;-)

I'll not be buying another.

Bought a DA Abbey Road this afternoon, just had a quick comparison listen against my EMI version. In the EMI version of Come Together, the kick drum attack is more definite and the reverb decay lasts longer, guitars sound more realistic, and the drums and bass intro to Something have the same quality.

There's little surface noise, and, had I not got the EMI remaster, I'd be quite happy with the DA issue, but as I now have sufficient copies Beatles recordings, enough is enough, and I won't be buying the rest of the series. Have to say I've been more than happy with the Jazz 33 discs I've bought, though. Mind you, the EMI issue cost £24.99, against the £9.99 of DeAgostini.

Seen this for sale in Tesco. Jumping on the bandwagon springs to mind.

I think these Deagostini things are a rip-off. Once purchased a couple of copies of a model Spitfire aircraft. The first edition was £2.99 but the rest was full price (around a tenner a copy), and each copy had component. If memory serves me to build the whole aircraft would take about 15 months. That's a lot of dough.

That's true but they have always worked that way and people must be away of it, however the sale of LPs is not the same as they generally come in one piece...... :)
