DCC player into Mac via optical - advice please

I've just picked up a second-hand Marantz DCC player which I plan to use for ripping my stacks of old audio tapes (regular not DCC) into itunes. The Marantz DCC unit has an optical out and I understand that using this (even with regular old analogue tapes) directly into the Macbook will give good results.

I need some advice on the best software to use and any other advice on the subject that I can get.

I've just discovered that my Macbook Pro doesn't have an optical in - only an optical out... Blast.

So I guess my new question is: How do I get the optical signal from the DCC player into the Macbook - is there an optical to usb converter device that would work well?
