How long do amplifiers last then? Cheers.

I'd be amazed if you'll ever keep ANY electrical item long enough to find out.

I had a system for 11 years once and sold every part in excellent working condition at the end of that time.

I know the person who bought the amp and it's still going strong despite being 20 years old now. (I have advised he get it serviced just for peace of mind.)

I have had my current setup 8 years nearly 9 now (I think). Looks like I will be keeping my amp until it dies now too.
