Hello all,

Please help as I am trying to put together a 5.1 surround but can not decide which way to go.

I will go for the Sony KDL40W4500.

To this, i am a little confused as to opt for the Sony DAV-IS50 for my DVD's and also Sony BDP-S350 Blue-ray.

or

Do i just go for the Sony HT-IS100 with Sony BDP-S350. Will the quality of my DVD's be as good ? what about the difference in sound between the two?

I am assuming i do not need a receiver with either of these set ups.

I did consider the Mission m-cube on a onkyo TX-SR506 but that would break the bank. Is it really worth paying the extra?

Excluding the TV. I would ideally like to spend in region of £600 although £1000 is my limit.

Please help as i'm useless at making these decisions.

Trouble with the DAV speakers is that they are so small and the subwoofer does everything, at least thats how it sounded to me when i listened to the DAV 1S 10 in the Sony shop, in the end i bought the HT SS 1300 and am very pleased with it, i have run it with a PS3, could do a lot worse.I also considered the IS 100 but again the speakers are the same as the DAV, i think they would look a bit stupid on the wall, but i buess people like them.

Your doing the same as me, with the 40W4500 tv and the HT-IS100 and im gonna get the 550, i went to the Sony shop and had a look and listen to them and it was impressive, and i just loved the small speakers, i cant see you getting it all for £1000 the cheapest ive found them all is £1600 with only 1 years guarantee, and if you get better cables your looking at another £2-300.

Its not worth buying the DAV-IS50 because you will be limited to dvd's and the s300 playes them all(i think).

If your like me and you go for the minimalistic look and dont like clutter the speakers will look great hidden away at the top of the wall.
