Hi all, I'm in the market for upgrading my front speakers and can't decide between the above. I won't be able to audition them all back to back as they aren't stocked by the same dealers! They all have good reviews but I'm not sure what would go best with my current setup. I have an Onkyo TXNR609, MS902c, MS903 bipoles and MS904i fronts that are to be replaced. I also have an older MS sub that is likely to be replaced with a BW ASW610.

I was wondering if the Aviano 6 would integrate best with the existing MS setup but they are a bit more imposing than the others as they are quite a bit bigger - I don't mind so much but others might!

How big is this room? The best person to answer this is going to be David at Hifix.

I tried the BX5, but at that price range i found it lacking the right punch and it did not deliver. Dali is a very good choice and so is the Aviano. My order would be this.

1. Dali
2. Aviano 6/Tannoy
3 BX5

Again you need to try and demo whatever you can really, even if its not all of them, at least you will know if you like the one you hear and start to eliminate options. You may of course need to travel if possible, which is worth it.

What about the KEF Q series, they make some very good speakers too?

The room is about 5m x 5m so not huge. I popped into Superfi today and they have the BX5 and Dali's in but none of the others. I intend to go back at the weekend to demo those. Need to pick a disc to use for the demo first!

I haven't looked into the Kef range, I'll have to do some reading as I'm not familiar with their alternatives.

If you want to determine how well it controls the mids and keeps the basss tight i suggest Spiderman 3 bluray in True HD. Ask for the Goblin, Parker battle (first one).

KEF Q300 is worth a look ;)

Thanks for the demo film tip. I've got that disc so I can try it at home as well to see how they compare to my current speakers. Thanks! :)

I've not managed to demo anything yet but did go to look at which models SuperFi had, they only did the Dali and the MAs. I was surprised how small they were!

Richersounds stock the MAs and the Avianos so should be able to demo most between the two stores.
