There are a few choices on Fazon packs - there is the Fazon-1 and the Fazon-3 which use the sats, you can also use the Fazon LCR in 5.1 with the same subs.

Presuming you mean the Fazon-3 ( as recently reviewed ) it would depend on the rest of your system as to the best match. What amp are you using, how big is the room?

The Dali's offer a very wide engaging sound and with the new sub offers real depth. It has been a while since I heard the B&W's but as I recall it was always the subwoofer that stood out in the packs and not the speakers. That may have changed though.

Well, I've got to offers:

5 dali Fazon Sat + 1 dali fazon sub 1: 999€

or

5 B&W M1 + 1 B&W ASW608 Sub: 1150€

I will play video and music,and I will connect the in a ONKYO TX-NR709 in a 30 m2 room.

And I would like to know wich one is the best option.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi,

Before you buy a Fazon sat speaker package and intend to place a sat on it's stand under your TV, you should be aware that the centre speaker you use from within the Dali Fazon sat speaker package, when turned on it's side remains at (almost) the same height as the left and right speakers. Unless your TV has at least a 9" gap below it, the sat speaker will block the screen. There is mention on the Dali www site that a lower centre speaker mount will be available but I can't see details of when. There is a way to mount the speaker using half of the supplied mount but it is a poor fix considering how nice the speakers look.

The B&W package lowers when the speaker is turned to sit below a screen although it is still app. 5" high.

I believe the Fazon 3 is a better package as the sub is improved.

User Big Chris has a B&W package with an Onkyo amp.

I have a B&W package with a Pioneer amp (although I use an REL sub).

Demo.

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.

I was thinking about placing it on the top of the screen or beside it, but not at the same height than L/R speakers. Could it be a problem?

Thanks.

Hi,

I think you have misunderstood the point I was making. The height of the Dali Fazon sat speaker is around 9" when using the stands. When you rotate the sat to use as a centre speaker, if you do, the height of the speaker remains around 9" due to the design of the mount.

The B&W speaker, when rotated, is lower in height in relation to the left and right speakers. Check out the pics in the review here: http://www.whathifi.com/review/dali-fazon-3-51 you will see the centre speaker is rotated.

If you compare the centre speaker height with the B&W from this review picture: http://www.whathifi.com/review/mt-25 the height of the speaker is almost half of the other 4 when it's rotated.

All this is relevant only if you intend to use the stands.

If you wall mount, placement should be approximately ear level while seated. You will have to judge where the speakers will fit in best with your own living environment.

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.
