Hallo everybody! i'm from Italy and next week end will be in Birmingham.

I would take the chance to buy a CA Dacmagic, that in England is cheaper than in Italy, due to euro/pound exchange rate too.

I see Richer Sound has a shop there, any suggestion to find Dacmagic in other stores?

Cheers

Hopefully you can one find there, if not go on the richer sounds website, there are other richer sounds stores located not too far away from birmingham

Make sure you ring the Richer Sounds store to reserve a DacMagic for you. They will be happy to do this.

would just like to add that i and a couple of friends have always had bad experiences with Cambridge Audio equiptment. i think the build quality is terrible. it is also a fact that Mr Richer owns a percentage of Cambridge Audio so it is no suprise that each time you go in to the shop and ask to look at something they will always point you to Cambridge Audio products. funny that. unbiased adice my a**.

I was in Tesco the other day, and I asked them where the baked beans were. The assistant pointed directly at the Tesco own brand beans, rather than the Heinz which were also on display, but on an inconviently low shelf. Shocking. I'm going to take my business elsewhere.

Yours etc,

would just like to add that i have always had good experiences with Cambridge Audio equipment. i think the build quality is fantastic for the price. it is also a fact that Mr Richer owns a percentage of Cambridge Audio (in a roundabout way) so don't be surprised if each time you go in to the shop and ask to look at something they will also point you to Samsung and Sony and LG (because Cambridge don't make tellies).

YMMV...

That must be why What HiFi, HiFi Choice, Stereophile and many many more, harp on/lie about the ridiculously good build quality. My 840A weighs 15kg and looks, sounds and feels way more than it's retail price.

Whatever you want to say, the DacMagic is a great product, not just at it's price but even double it's price.

That happened to me in the Sony Store the other day, they refused to show me an Audi A6.

And the filthy looks I got when I asked why the Shell garage didn't have BP Ultimate. Typical.

(looks for email address of editor of Daily Mail)

First of all I wish to thanks all of you for replies and especially people of Birmingham RS store.

When I went there they did not have the Dacmagic, but in few hours they managed to let me get it, just in time before I go back to Italy.

The dac looks very nice, but I can't say the same for the AC adapter... very cheap feel!

I know I buyed it for listening and not for seeing, but someone here have replaced it with something better?

Hope to write soon my first impressions about sound compared with my older dac, a cheaper but good Superpro 707.

cheers
