DAC Question

I'm thinking about getting a DAC to improve the sound from my current set-up which is an Apple TV2 connected with optical cable to Denon AVR-1910 with B&W 685's.

Obviously it doesnt sound as good as it could with a dedicated stereo amp, but my question is would the DAC make a dramatic difference to the sound or would the improvement be negated by feeding the analogue signal into the Denon which would limit the quality of the sound?

Any advice/experience would be greatly appreciated.

The stereo sound quality of music played via the Apple TV.

i dont think the dac will help much as your av reciever will already have a decent enough dac in it. If your looking for better stereo sound get a decent stereo intergrated amp.

Unless you're using all of the amplification channels you could try bi-amping your main speakers with 2x2 channels.
