thanks to many for the help i went and replaced my faulty dac-magic power supply today the staff were good, gave me a new one and so far 3hours in its is still quite as a mouse so fingers crossed. It sounds spot on but is it know for needing time to burn in? if it needs burning in whats the best way to do it and how long.

PSU Burn-in?

I wouldn't worry about it. Those volts and amps will be just fine and the necessary amounts of electrons will be told exactly where to go and what to do. No experience necessary.

i only bought the dac magic yesterday so i mean burn in the main unit not the psu realkly.

Can't say I noticed any at the time, but then my mind was somewhat overtaken by playing with trying different sources, interconnect, types of music and general Christmas cheer

Just select some good albums and enjoy.

Only time I've ever experienced a signifcant change was my new pre-amp.

Didn't consider it a necessity to be honest.

In fact I was more preoccupied in trying to hear a difference in the 3 filters. Ended up choosing the steep filter. Not sure why just sounded a little nicer to my ears.

Big thumbs up to the DACmagic. I think its a terrific bit of kit for the cash.
