Hi,

I'm looking at a way to stream my iTunes from my iMac through my Marantz system. I assume I need a DAC. What would you recommend for a budget of around £100? Also, if possible, I'd prefer to do it wirelessly and appreciate that will take me over budget.

The Mac is in one room, the stereo in another!

Any advice, much appreciated. My stereo is set up mainly to play CD's, but I really like to use my iPod, which I can connect to the CD player through a USB connection. However, my iTunes collection is growing rapidly and already has outgrown my iPod! Hence, I'm looking at alternatives

Squeezebox would be the best solution here IMO, but you might have to pay a bit more than your budget for one. Wireless, excellent interface and the DAC inside it is very decent.

You need an Airport Express! For wireless at least. I do not know if 1 or 2 units of them. At first you can use the DAC in the Airport Express. It is not at all bad, so saves you from buying right now. Later you can always buy an external DAC.

An Airport unit is €80 here. You need an iPod or iPhone with the app "Remote" to run it! It is worth the money!

Good luck!
