Hi all.

I've recently purchased a Cyrus Discmaster (I think!). I thought it was a dad7 cd unit by its looks, but when I got it home, i realised it didnt have any 'audio out' outputs. It has the psx-r port, a 3 pin 'Pro Out' port, a Din-style 'comms' port, a 'spdif out' port and a mc-bus port.

My question is this.......

Do i now need to purchase a DAC for this unit in order to get sound from it? If so, does it have to be the matching 'DACmaster' unit?

My plan was to get a Cyrus III amp and just plug in.

I feel like a bit of a plum at this moment and any info or options would be greatly received.

If I need to buy a DAC, then I cant afford the amp

Thanks in advance

The Discmaster is a transport and is supposed to be used with the DACmaster....

You will need either a DAC or an amp that will accept a digital input.

I expect the seperate DAC will be the cheaper option. There are not many standard amps about with digital inputs.
