Just upgraded from my Arcam CD73T to a Cyrus CD8x and am so impressed with all aspects of the new unit. I think it is considerably better than the Arcam in pretty much all areas. Anyway, one thing i have noticed is that there is a "phase inversion" setting that can be swapped between inverted and normal. I have done varuious bits of googling to see what this is/does but am still a little lost. Can anyone explain to me sonically what this does. I have only had a quick test this morning and could not really tell a difference.

Thanks

Tom

It's a little bit like inverting the phase on a pair of speakers - when you connect red to black and black to red - some speakers sound better, some sound the same. In this case you're doing similar with the CD player. Don't expect anything more than a subtle difference, IF you can tell a difference.

Cheers for that David, that makes more sense now. I think i will probably just have a quick test tonight and if i can't tell a difference will just leave well alone.
