Just really looking for a few opinions about bi-amping with the xpower and integrated amps. These are the options and I would like to know what people have found best when using a cyrus integrated with a power amp. 1. Use the 8vs2 as a preamp and use the xpower for all duties 2. Biamp with the xpower on LF and 8vs2 on HF 3. Biamp with the xpower in HF and 8vs2 on LF I've tried xpower on HF and 8vs2 on LF for a while and enjoyed the results, now I'm trying the opposite for a period and then the 8vs2 as pre. My setup can be seem in the sig. I've noticed a few similar threads recently, so I hope this isn't too boring.

Much preferred option 1. Didn't get on with option 2 or 3. Also try adding a PSX-R to the 8vs2 as this makes a noticeable difference to the sound.

thats the next try, enjoying the extra detail in the bass am but cant help but prefer the extra sweetness the xpower driving the HF.

I had the same 8vs2 and XPower combination until the recent change...

I found the XPower on the HF with the 8vs2 on bass was the best. The detail in the mid and high frequencies with the XPower was lovely. With the 8vs2 on bass duties only the bass sounded nice and tight.

I have since changed the 8vs2 for a PreXPd into lone XPower - further improvement in detail but not as much as when adding the XPower - I really wanted to play with the integrated DAC! Now I want the Qx module - the Financial Controller (my wife) doesn't 🙁

hello,

I've just been "given" a 6XP and 6CD - need to decide on speakers and a next upgrade solution...
Speakers i was thinking Spendor A5... and possible a power supply unit?

Thought gentlemen?

I don't think series take a PSX-R. An 8 power amp (or the equivalent Smart Power Plus s/h) would seem the obvious upgrade but I would invest in some good speakers first.

Spendors, Totems and Dynaudios are popular with Cyrus owners.
