Hello to all lovers of hi-fi, I would like this Christmas pamper myself and buy one of these amps, now the question is which one. Now I use the marantz pm6004 with tannoy mercury v4 and arcam rdac in the living room and marantz pm6003 with monitor audio bronze bx2 in my bedroom, will be a good change? thank you for any help and waiting for any new ideas.

Merry Christmas

They're both really good amps, but sound very different from one another (and from your Marantzs for that matter). The only way to tell is to have a listen with your speakers

You might like to add Harman Kardon KH990 into the mix. It's a powerful, excellent value amp with EQ thrown in, which can be bought for a similar amount: http://www.superfi.co.uk/p-2706-harman-kardon-hk980-amplifier-hd980-cd-player-system-sizzler.aspx?gclid=CO38qLDGpLQCFe7MtAodLjUA5g#Tab_Six

I've heard the K2 in the past and thought it was good, but not outstanding, albeit I did no comparisons at the time. I recently auditioned the Rega Brio-R, Cyrus 6, Audiolab 8200a and Naim Nait XS all through a Rega DAC and Monitor Audio RX6 speakers (Chord Rumour speaker cable). The Naim should have been the best given it's hefty price tag over the others, and was. The Rega Brio-R was the cheapest and the biggest disappointment to my ears, sounding not particularly detailed and having an uncontrolled bass. The Cyrus 6 was a big improvement, but I didn't feel it dealt with all types of music well. Once the Audiolab 8200a was hooked up, massive improvement, the bass was deep but fast and under control. Articulate sounding, but never strayed into harshness in my demo (I was mainly listening to rock). I found the Audiolab for as little as £630, a superb bargain to my ears. It's not at all bright as I was expecting after reading a review, a real all rounder. Having said that, I couldn't get that Naim sound out of my head and I bought a secondhand Nait XS!

............ and then buy the Cyrus

Partially joking, do try to audition both, but bear in mind the Cyrus is very good, upgradeable, and will probably hold it's value better than the Roksan.

The reason I just changed from Cyrus is it doesn't work well with rock music/certain recordings.. As impressive as they are.. I wouldn't buy Roksan either though to be fair.. If the Naim suits your taste i'll drink to that
