hi,

i have a yamaha dsp-ax863se amp with the kef 2005.3 speakers (5.1) with the kube-2 subwoofer.

I am trying to optmise the set up and am confused about the 'crossover' settings for the subwoofer. The amp allows for maunal adjustment as does the rear of the subwoofer.

should both the amp setting and subwoofer setting have to be the same ? and is there a recommended setting to ensure a more balanced sound? the range on the sub is from 40hz to 140hz

does a higher Hz setting mean more bass is handled by the sub or the other way round?

any pointers greatly received...

regards

Set the subwoofer's crossover to the maximum - ie 140Hz - and the volume control to about two-thirds.

Use the amp's menus to set the crossover point and level of the sub - with those speakers I've found 80Hz to be the minimum you should set, while IMO 100Hz gives the best integration, though this can vary from room to room according to size, furnishing, speaker position and so on.
