Hi folks after a bit of reading I have established that I do not have to buy an external DAC to be able to run my PC music through when playing stored files in FLAC or from my iTunes library.

Both the Creek Evo 50cd and audiolab 8200cd have built in DACs that can be used to connect external sources such as TV, games console (will they take an iPod or iPhone?). Which of these CD players would be best for this task? My budget would not allow for the matching amp so my current thought is to get the Pioneer A50 having heard that in action and liked it. I was originally going to audition the A50 with the Pioneer PD 30 cdp with a view to adding an external DAC at a later date.

Your thoughts on this is much appreciated.

Thanks

Chris

Not much point in spending extra to add an external dac to a modern cd player, even if it does happen to play sacd's as well, just as well buy a cd transport.

I have not heard the Creek Evo 50 but knowing Creek it will be good. However, based on reviews and having auditioned it some time ago I'd plump for the Audiolab.
