I'm thinking of buying a new TV and will want to connect the sound to my Cyrus amp. The cable run will be around 8 metres. Can anyone recommend a suitable cable, please, preferably flat so that it can be laid easily under a carpet?

I am confused as I can't see the point unless the speakers are either side of the TV.

If they are, why not just move the amp?

I have a turntable, PS2, DAC, CD player, amp, Airport Express and DVD player all in my TV stand. Happy days.

Layout of room complicated with room not being rectangular. RH speaker immediately to the R of TV. LH speaker 2.5m away at other side of fireplace on other wall which is 120 degrees to wall housing TV. HiFi amps etc in opposite corner behind listeners and viewers with long cable runs to speakers. Given door, fireplace, windows, radiators and bookcase, it is not practicable to shift amp etc.
