Hi,

I want to connect my Sky HD box to a Denon 1910 receiver so that i can listen to TV sound through the Denon /surround speakers.

Can anyone advise how go about this. I have connected an optical cable from the Sky box to the Denon, but i do not know how to set up the Denon.

Thanks

Well, you use either the optical or (depending on the Sky+ HD box you have) electrical digital output of the Sky box to a suitable input on the receiver.

If you're also connecting the HDMI output of the Sky+HD box through the Denon to the TV, rather than connecting HDMI direct from Sky+HD to TV, you'll also have to go into the Denon's menus and assign the digital audio input you've used to connect the Sky+HD box to the same input selector you're using for the HDMI connection.

Ray, you have to assign the audio input i.e. Optical 1, 2 or 3 via the set up procedure on the amp.

irc press "system setup" button on the front of the amp and scroll down to Input Set Up. Press Enter then scroll to Digital In, press Enter then scroll through to the TV option and use < and > to select the correct Optical input. Exit the menu system. should be fine and dandy
