Hi, I bought some ok speakers at a good price, Aural Envelope EX300's:

I dont have an amp yet so I've hooked them up to my mini hifi

(or midi-hi fi, not sure). It's an Aiwa NSX520

So the Aiwa says for the speakers: Imp 6 ohms, and the Aurals are 4-8ohms (is this a range because the Aurals have different size speakers in the same floor standing init?). The Aurals are 75W speakers.

I realise the Aiwa is not powerful enough to do the speakers justice, but apart from that will I damage the speakers given the above specs?

Thanks

Marc

you are more likely to damage with an underpowered amp than an over powerful one - i am guessing that the amp in the aiwa wont be that strong so in this case i would not be turning it up loud put it that way.
