Still Undecided what to connect everything up with, can anynoe help?

1) Thinking of using Chord Carnival Silverscreen with the amp end terminated and speaker end bare?

2) Will these cables be a bit chunky to run to the rears, if so is their a thinner alternative?

3) What would you reccomend to commect the Sub up with?

4) is it worth getting two more speakers to make it 7.1 as the Sony can decode this? if so where would you place them?

Any help would be greatly recieved.

Cheers Piman

I would use QED micro with these speakers (I used to have the Jamos). This is decent thin cable, you won't need to spend a lot on the cable with these speakers. As for sub cable, any half decent one is fine, you can go to websites like Futureshop and audiovisualonline and get one for about £6!

As for going 7.1, how big is your room? If you have a average to large room, I would say yes, go for it. The speakers are tiny so they will look fine. You would have two surround speakers, either side of your room facing each other and then two surround back speakers that can face the screen either side of your seating position.

Agreed with M. Escargot on the speaker cable - Micro would be more than adequate, or if you wanted to stick with Chord, either the Leyline 2 or Campana installation cables, which are similarly thin and easy to hide away, and sell for around £2-£2.50/m

Bear in mind you'll also need a phono-to-phono cable for the subwoofer - Chord Crimson, IME, is very suitable for this job in a system at this level.

Hi Piman, do let us know how they sound when you get them connected. I have the same amp running a 5.1 set up based on speakers I had/picked up cheap on eBay but I'm looking at the Jamo's as my next upgrade. Other posts have suggested that this combination may sound a bit bright, so I'd be interested in your opinion.

For the record I'm using Audio Innovations Ultra Micro cable from Richer Sounds, £2.49/m
