Connecting 5.1 speaker package

I am on a tight budget and have recently bought a Sony blue ray player which has 5.1 phono outputs on the rear. I also have a Creative 5.1 speaker package which has on the subwoofer :

1 phono socket for Front

1 phono socket for Rear

1 phono socket for Center

the cener channel is Ok ,but is it possible to use a twin phono to single phono cable to connect the Front & the same again for the Rears. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Which Creative package is it? Chances are the 'phono sockets' on the speaker's subwoofer are actually 3.5mm stereo sockets, so you'll need three times something like this to connect it up...

Its an Inspire 5300, and no it definitely is a single phono at the subwoofer end.

having downloaded the manual it shows 3 inputs and they are all 3.5mm plugs. so as Andrew has shown those are the cables you will need.

the phone connections are for the speakers.
