Hi

I plan currenly to fit a 46" TV into a 10ft x 11ft room giving a viewing distance of around 7.5 to 8 ft would this be fine for such a large tv or would I be better off with a 40"?

I read so many confusing answers that a 3D TV should be larger then a 2D TV if I want to experience 3D better but not sure if a room my size can handle it?

THX website recomends 50 inch class TV = 5-7.5 feet away but that seems massive!

Any opinions?

Thanks

I think you'll be OK with a 46in TV at that distance asimo82. I have a 42in at a viewing distance of 9ft and it's fine, so a couple of extra inches shouldn't be a problem, provided you feed the screen a diet of good HD material.

Wouldn't disagree with the THX suggestion: IME 3D works best when the TV screen comes as close as possible to filling your field of vision. Otherwise the effect can become one of peering into a fishtank.
