I wanted to play some music in the bed room last night but didn't want to stream it im not a big streamer or subcriber to streaming. So that left me with a few thoughts last night. I have some Acoustics QBT3 speakers nice and small add a small CD player to them with BT option (less wires ) the better.
so i looked at these any thoughts ideas would be appreciated .

One has a clear sky lid the other doesn't is that the only difference the specs are a bit hit and miss.

If it were me, I’d go for the clear lid so I could watch the disc spin. I just think that’s a really cool touch.

For about four years, I used a pair of Q Acoustics BT3 speakers with my TV. They served me well, but sadly they stopped working. Still, I always felt they sounded decent for their size.

Adding the little FiiO disc player would make a nice small system for your room. I recently bought the FiiO DAC myself, and so far I’m honestly very impressed with how it performs.

Their audio gear selection is extensive and affordable.

🚨New release of R2R version:
Quick side note -- I wouldn't buy directly from the Fiio EU website, stay with RS!

The aftercare service provided via the EU seller was subpar due to the late delivery and they only supply EU power cords with no option for UK power cords. After three days, the track and trace was no longer working. After two weeks, I tried to get the seller to track down the parcel and locate its location. I was basically told to be patient... 🤯

Not sure why you don't like streaming, I was against it for many years as I abhor subscription services (my phone as still a non expiring pay as you go), someone asked me a couple of years ago, when I was younger, did I buy 1 CD or more a month and the answer was yes.

They mentioned a streaming service was less cost per month and you have access to 80 Million songs so I decided to try it. my CD player's now in the loft and it's one of the best things I did.

Might possibly be worth a try, even if you pick up a 2nd hand streamer from somewhere, most of the streaming services offer a free trial so between them you could get a good 3 months, give it a go and if you don't like it, sell the streamer for what may be a small loss but at least you'd know you've tried it.

Just a thought.

I've become a Fiio-first customer/fan; so, if I needed a fourth player, or even only one tiny one, I'd surely want to trial one of these. I'd go for the cleaner design in either black or silver. These units are especially attractive if you value portability, which I've never even thought about for CD players -at least not since Sony produced primary portable options, and I used them then only to listen to audio books on the go.

Enjoy and good luck with your shopping and trialing.

I only got it to day must say i am shocked at how good it is and for the cost its brilliant i have a few gripes but not with the sound or build at all.

So my Fiio DM13 arrived today below is the quick start guide can any one see where its says the power button is also a menu button to enter BT mode or select a output mode ? should be called long start guide.

I thought i was going mad and couldnt find the BT pairing mode after some google search i realised the instructions are mostly useless.

Once i had it connected and worked out what the buttons do what, my god for a little box its powerful, great sound and ive only used BT so far .Very impressed build quality is superb .

sorted perfect for the bed room.

Congratulations! It sure is feature-packed: I think a remote is the only thing I might miss, though for sleeping, it would be less important.

For sleeping, I've become accustomed to, if not reliant on, a pretty little DAP and my best Bluetooth speaker to which it connects automatically on power-up. I do need to be able to control volume, especially, from bed, on my favorite sleep-time albums.

Enjoy your new special Fiio!
