Hello and greetings from Canada,

I am looking for advice for my home theatre setup. I currently have the 6000A MKll connected to my AVR via the L/R pre out to the power input
on the 6000A which is working fine but I do have a five channel 120W external amplifier that l was hoping to connect to. Can I connect to the external amplifier via the pre out of the 6000A with the current connection arrangement l have. I also have the HDMI connected to the tv and a Cambridge Audio streamer connected to AUX 1 on the 6000A.
If anyone can help me out I would appreciate your assistance.

Thanx in advance,
Graham

I think the reason you haven't had a reply so far might be that people don't fully understand your setup or intention.

1) It seems you're currently connecting an AVR preamp output to the 6000A power amp input.
2) The preamp output of the 6000A (variable by its volume control) can be used to feed 2 of the 5 channels of your external amplifier.

If it's your plan to do 1 and 2 above simultaneously, then you'll just need the user manual to confirm / understand the pre/power modes of the 6000A

Hello and thank you for your reply to my question.
I thought I explained my intention but l guess I didn’t explain it well enough.
My intent is to incorporate a two channel integrated amplifier into my home theatre system so I in theory can improve my audio experience when playing my streaming device.Previous to implementing the two channel amplifier I ran five channels through my external power amplifier which is 120 watts per channel. The two channel integrated amp is 50 watts per channel so I thought why not use the two channels on the external amplifier that are available and more than double the wattage output.

As l stated earlier I connected my AVR to to the two channel integrated amplifier via the L/R pre out to the power input on the two channel amplifier and I am using the pre power mode which works well but why not use the increased power output of the external amplifier.?
The Audiolab manual shows two options for connecting. Pre power which is the mode l am currently using and Pre which can be used for connecting to an external amplifier or sub woofer. I guess I should try to connect to the external amplifier via the Pre connection from the two channel amplifier and of course connect the L/R speakers to the external amp and see what happens using Pre mode.

Thanx,
Graham
