I've recently had an digital aerial professionally installed. In the past to make the best of what I have, I bought a £40 russelandrews male to female coax to run between aerial coax and freeview box. My question is although the coax used in the installation is fine, I wonder is it still worth me using my quality male to female coax or have I fallen for promotional rubbish in the past?

Not too sure what a digital aerial is (as distinct from an ordinary TV aerial), but I guess if the cable has served you well in the past, it will do so just as well in your new set-up.

But if the new aerial has been supplied with a flying lead to plug straight into the Freeview box, that'll be fine, too.

Of all the 'cable upgrades' I've performed in the past, getting a good TV aerial lead made the most obvious difference, so no I don't think you were duped. How much of a difference it makes in your new improved setup only you can say by trying it - it may only be marginal now.
