My wife is moaning about the noise emanating from my headphones. I have a pair of Sennheiser HD650's which I have to say are excellent but they do leak sound.

I am thinking of buying a closed back pair to use when reading in bed. Anyone got any recommendations on the best sub-£100 pair. I am more interested in the sound quality rather than looks.

Cheers

Avoid the goldrings they leak sound nearly as bad as your senns - very poor in this respect

best ones i have owned for blocking out sound were the sennheiser hd280 pro - really clamp to your head and leak very little, should be able to pick them up within budget

Yep, My PX200's are great little headphones and don't leak much at all. There is a newer version out now of the 100 and 200's. Also I think the AKG 271 Mk2's look great and are on my shopping list! idc what amps do you use (especially for AKG) from the laptop?

The main amp is a Musical Fidelity X-CANV8P. I also have a heavily modified X-CANS. Both have power, detail and a big midrange which suits the AKGs.
