Hi'
Just to see if there was any difference in black levels ,colors, sharpness levels i went to a number of shops, compared both of the mentioned screens(ISF uncalibrated) and to be honest i could only see very slight differences.Today i visited a very well known shop in these pages (all ISF calibrated),i saw a massive difference in blacks, but as before the colors were slightly better, sharpness was slightly better, picture was more stable(less fizz, noise.Anyway so i asked him to change the settings to movie and standard mode.Picture settings were the same.
I was shocked to see(on movie, standard mode)the picture was the same as those many other shops i visited, but before when checked both set was ISF calibrated there was a huge difference in black levels.

Now i am more confused then ever before.Does this mean you can only see big differences when only you calibrate the 9GEN models?, or my other theory
is maybe he deliberately calibrated the 8Gen panel to look inferior.Because as far as i know there isn't much between them?.Maybe someone can put some sense in to this. How does ISF calibration work?.Can someone make two of the same panels look different then one another(when ISF calibrated).

Without an ISF professional calibration you can still as a user not completely destroy your image by using the out of the box settings! Keeping noise reduction off, sharpness down, using the right gamma settings for the room, setting up your sources correctly and using the right cables can all make a decent image.

But when it comes to greyscale accuracy and detail, and excellent colour you are going to need a pro with the right tools for the job.

Yes. The annoying aspect of this is that there are presumably adjustments that could improve the picture, but which only ISF can get at. If I'd spent thousands on a projector, then I could probably justify the cost of getting them in to calibrate it - but not for a sub-400 quid one.
