Your RX-V3067 will be perfectly capable of driving LS50's and even more so if you're going to use a sub and with crossover set at a minimum of 80Hz. Try the combo first and if you still feel you need more then look at amplification such as an Anthem MRX.

Second Layer of EcoTherm going in before double layer of plaster board - no mercy on the sound proofing
Two new pictures. At the stage now where the wiring is done, now it needs to be closed up!

Getting there. The plaster boards for the ceiling at done. Now the second partition is going up to create the room within a room.
That's a heck of a project. I feel mine will end up being compromised in comparison.
Im even thinking of wooden floors (with rugs), to match the rest of the house.
Im im having the oil tank moved this week in prep for the new room. That's not a straightforward job.

You will be ok, these are all conventional building materials. Try to stick to the guides as much as possible, but don't get to hung up
As for floors, no problem with wood and rugs, most Cinema rooms are this way and the result is still impressive. In fact over at Ideal AV, Allan has his room with wood floors and a Huge rug, no problems that I detected

Good sized rug and acoustic panels on the wall (if needed) will sort it all out, its all about balance in the room. I may even put down oak flooring if the carpet works out too expensive!

Looking good Duaplex.
Are you still going ahead with the MPS300's? I'm waiting for mine to come off the production line. Put the S300T's up last week and love them.

Ric - I am going for the full size S300, I can just about squeeze them in and maintain the throw distance on the projector. But, I will be curious to hear how the wall hangers sound! From what I hear there is nothing in it between them.
Can't wait to get my S300T set up, I have them upstairs stored away ready to use.

that is correct, wood over concrete and a good rug followed by some decent EQ will usually sort out most issues
this doesn't have to be complicated like some seem to want to make it

Cheers. It will be a wooden floor on screed. The application for planning went in today (at last)
Room is now ready fr plastering.
I have taken three pictures, one picture to show the depth of the wall and the soundproofing that has gone in. The wall depth stands at just over a foot deep all the way around. Room should be completed within 2 weeks

More pictures..... Room is almost ready for paint. Plaster is drying off nicely. Now for the skirting board with further acoustic foam to stop vibrations travelling
